EMPORIA was conceived by Jonathan Demers and Xavier Brouillette in 2020 in the context of the pandemic. Five artists (Bonnie Baxter, Stanley Février, Phillipe Hamelin, Kim Kielhofner, Sophie Latouche) in collaboration with Cégep du Vieux-Montréal and the Musée d'art contemporain des Laurentides, created video works in dialogue with philosophical reflections for the course of Xavier Brouillette. These videos were integrated into the coursework, asking students to engage with a work of art as part of their studies.

I worked under the theme of Accumulation, creating three videos from texts by Aristotle, John Locke, and Marcel Hénaff, multiplying images into shifting collages and colourful formations.

From September 1 to December 11, 2022, MAC LAU presented the work along with a free course program, making the exhibition space a place of reflection and exchange of knowledge.
